International SEVA - Volunteer Activities

In India, children with special needs form a large chunk of segment that’s not catered to enough. However, there are a number of organizations around the country that provide people with opportunities to volunteer to help children with special needs.

These initiatives intend to increase the number of impaired children who participate in sports and cultural activities. It allows them to avail education and vocational training in enabling settings. Through volunteering, you can assist disadvantaged children and their caregivers in multiple ways including day to day activities.

Children in India who have special needs can participate in a variety of volunteer opportunities and a number of different programs. While you can volunteer at International SEVA to either support or get supported, here is a list of initiatives that help special needs children.

    1. Pari Voluntourism Solutions
    2. The objective of this program is to make educational opportunities available to children in rural India who are either mentally or physically handicapped. In addition to this, it offers vocational training to students with the goal of enabling them to earn a living. It encourages disabled individuals to participate in cultural and athletic events, and represents them in competitions at the state and national levels. Your role as a volunteer will allow you to assist disadvantaged children in a variety of ways, including learning, dancing, playing games, and assisting their caregivers with everyday jobs and chores.

    3. Prakhyata Abhinand Charitable Trust (PACT)
    4. Another organization that caters to the needs of autistic children and adults in India is PACT. It is a non-governmental organization that strives to support orphaned, abandoned, or surrendered (OAS) children with special needs (CwSN) through customized child-centric sensitization, capacity building, and rehabilitation programs.

      The country of India offers a wide variety of additional alternatives for volunteer work, such as teaching at orphanages or providing care for children from disadvantaged backgrounds.     5. Ummeed Child Development Center
    6. The Ummeed Child Development Center offers care that is evidence-based, transdisciplinary, and family-centered. Its goal is to assist children in learning, growing, and living their lives to the maximum possible extent. Furthermore, they provide training, supervision, and mentoring in order to develop your capabilities in providing assistance to children who have special needs.

    7. International Volunteer HQ’s Special Needs Care project
    8. Volunteers are given the opportunity to assist individuals with a broad variety of disabilities in environments such as schools and care institutions through this project. Families in India who have children who have physical or mental disabilities frequently face stigma, which makes it difficult for them to provide the attention and care that their children require.

    11. Teach For India
    12. Teach For India is a charitable organization that works toward the goal of providing education to children in India who are disadvantaged in some way.     14. Smile Foundation is a development organization that operates on a national level and seeks to improve the lives of children, their families, and the community with which they are associated. Throughout India, they provide programs that empower women, as well as education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities.
